“W” stands for whole and 180 indicates the number of cashew nut Kernels in one pound. The outer part of the raw cashew seeds is very hard and is not for human consumption. To remove and further processing of raw cashew seeds they bring to factory for further processing and boil with steam at least 10 minutes  Then dried in sun light.

To remove outer hard part the cashew nuts kernels are going through cutting machine where we can cut off  the shell part and thereafter manually separate the cashew nut and the shell.  Proper hygienic conditions are maintained through out the whole cashew production process.

Still there is a thin layer present at the outside part of cashew nuts which need to remove and for that cashew nuts are placed into heat chamber. All the cashew nuts are remains two to three inside the heat chamber

In the pealing process we thin outer portion cashew nuts and ultimate we can have a fresh which shiny cashew nuts for human consumption. In the grading process we are able to grade the white cashew nuts as per Size, Color and Shape..

Grading of Cashew Nuts: The process of grading is designed to sort white cashew kernels into different grades. Some kernels possess natural color with natural length and some of them are process generated at the time steam boiling.

Size means number of cashew in one pound which is 454 grams like 180 count of nuts in one pound.

Color differentiated in four categories — “W” means white; “SW” means Scorched White happened for excess time of boiling in the steam;  “SSW” means Scorched wholes second having some wrinkles, stain due to excessive boiling;  lastly “D” means dessert which is excessive brownish.

Shape can be distinguish in three broad categories —- “W” means wholes where both the leafs of nuts are intact. “B” means Butt where a chipped whole cashew kernel. “Pieces” means only one leaf of nut is present, splits, K, LWP. SWP and BB are broken cashew.
